Have you ever hit the workout blahs? One of the things that makes working out with Bryan Nunziato so fantastic is that he is constantly switching up my fitness plan so that I don’t get bored. Starting last Friday, we decided to do something totally different and Bryan took me outside for an Urban Extreme Bootcamp style workout. They have been fantastic! The cold air and change of scenery really reenergized me. We did a variety of exercises using bands, outside stairs, curbs and more. For example we used the steps at an office building to do side squats, interval runs using the parking meters and picnic tables for core work. The workouts felt fantastic and it was a totally different way to get an intense workout without having to do the same thing as usual. We are going to do more of these types of workouts as, so that I can continue to hit my fitness goals, look forward to working out and continuing a healthy lifestyle.

Bryan took a bunch of pictures and has posted them on his Facebook. Click here and check them out, let us know what you think. A few of my favorites are below.

As always, check out Bryan’s site by clicking here and please let us know what you think.

As some of you may remember I began working out with Bryan Nunziato this summer – in an effort to totally transform my body. During that time, I also totally changed the way that I looked at fitness, food and healthy living in general. Growing up, I was an athlete, but “life” had gotten the best of me, and I had basically given up on staying in shape. When I started working with Bryan, never could I have expected the results that I have seen, and continue to see. I have lost about 30 pounds, 19 total inches and increased my fitness level immensely.

I had to take about 6 weeks off, as I had to have a (not workout related) surgery, however, I am back now, and ready for Round 2. I had my first official “Round 2” workout with Bryan yesterday, and although I am bit sore, I feel great. It is hard to believe how quickly my body had gotten used to the routine and great feeling that come along with a great workout – and I am so glad to be back at it.

I look forward to updating you all on my continued progress and remind you to check out Bryan’s site by clicking here.

As always, questions and comments are always welcomed.

Here is a collage showing some of my progress. The first picture is week 1 of the last round, the last is week 12.

Tuesday Morning – September 15th at 9:05am – Certified Personal Trainer Bryan Nunziato will be talking to Paul about my progress in the “The Get Some Workout Of Her Fitness Challenge”. Before we do that – I wanted to post some of the numbers related to my progress. Seeing is believing right? The stats are below – I couldn’t be happier. I am still working out with Bryan and continuing to improve my health and fitness. Round 4 of bootcamp starts in the morning, and I still look forward to it! Check out Bryan’s site and of course his interview in the morning.
I can’t believe it is already Week 9 of the 12 Week – Get Some Workout of Her Fitness Challenge! This experience has had such an impact on my life and lifestyle choices that I know I will never be able to go back to the way things were before. I have posted (below) a picture from week 1 and a picture from yesterday. I am pretty proud of the difference – what do you think? As you know, I couldn’t be doing all of this without the constant support and encouragement of Bryan. Have you checked out Bryan’s site yet? You can find here. I have also posted a few pictures that show how my muscle definition is increasing.

Session Three of boot camp has been conquered and I have to say – as odd as it may sound – I am falling in love with it. It is hard, yes, but the accomplishment I feel after it is over is fantastic! Everyone in the class is great – and everyone really works to encourage each other – which makes for a much better experience. Bryan continues to change the activities, adding in more “team” type activities, which also help to motivate and keep us all moving. Another neat thing is that everyone is learning each others weakness and therefore know when to encourage each other when needed. I can’t believe that I now look forward to getting up at 5:15am and working out at 6am – but I actually am!

Let me know what you think of my progress so far!

Bryan has a facebook page now – check it out - there will be lots of great information up there as well as on his site!

But this morning, at 6am sharp, the group embarked on our first day of bootcamp. The class begins on the front steps of 54 State Street, the building in which The Omni Fitness Center is located, which is where the 10 or so of us gathered this morning. Some were more awake than others, with me being one of those still half asleep, (as many of you know from listening to Paul, I tend to work strange hours – so getting up that early is not the norm), but everyone was excited and looking forward to the experience. From 54 State, we set off in a jog to the Riverfront Walkway. Once we arrived at the foot of the steps to the walkway, Bryan explained a series of exercises that would start us off, and we got moving! Bryan kept us moving by changing exercises and locations, so the class seemed to go by a good pace which kept the group motivated. Bryan encouraged us all to set our own pace, and be aware of when we may need to modify certain exercises for our own individual level of fitness. At the end, I felt like I had, had a fantastic workout and as strange as it seems to say, I am looking forward to Thursday morning’s class.

The bootcamp classes are on Tuesday and Thursday morning, and once my endurance builds up some more, I will in all likelihood add some cardio after the classes. I will also continue with my weekend visits to the gym in order to stay on track. Week 8 weigh in is tomorrow, so when I check in later this week, be sure to look for those numbers!

I had a very successful weekend at the gym – and I have a love in my life. That love is that arc trainer. A few weeks ago, I was able to about 20 minutes on the arc trainer and then have to move onto another piece of equipment. I am now able to do 50 minutes at a good pace and feel great about it afterwards.

Late last week, I met with Stephanie again. Stephanie Kugler owns Healthy Balance Nutrition Counseling and has been working with me along with Bryan. On Thursday, Stephanie reviewed my food journal and she and I discussed how my eating habits have been. She would like to see me increase my calcium intake, which has always been a struggle for me. I can’t stand milk, and I have to choke yogurt down, but Stephanie made some fantastic recommendations about some low-fat cheeses and ways to make the yogurt more palatable. In addition, Stephanie said that my calorie intake is generally still too low, and she recommends that I add a mid-day snack in to boost the calories, preferable one with calcium and/or protein. I am also going to continue to reduce my caffeine intake, as that continues to be a struggle. Stephanie has also recommended that I seek out fresh vegetables and fruits with the most color, as color generally indicates more vitamins and minerals. Overall, Stephanie is pleased with my progress and she and I plan to meet again the week after next. If you would like to contact Stephanie she can be reached at 518-482-3537.

I need some new music for my workouts. I would love any and all suggestions. Please feel free to leave them here – or shoot me an email – angelaa@talk1300.com
