Of course the “Al” watch is on. It would be the perfect choice and after making Roger Hedgecock part of the station I have total faith in the intelligence from above.
Agree about Al, and even Hedgecock, but I just can’t get into Dennis “lack of mental horsepower” Prager.
I’m not fond of Dennis Prager, he comes across as more than a little bit loopy. His views are not mainstream and I don’t think they reflect the sentiment of this station. Get rid of Dennis. I’d rather hear the whiney Dr Laura callers that have screwed up their lives and never learn. Al Roney is at least in tune to local politics.
I guess I posted to the wrong thread for my response to be on topic. My apologies.
Rather than be redundant, the digest version of my post (if you prefer detail, see http://blog.talk1300.com/2010/05/12/change/) is that Al Roney is your man for the PM show vacancy. Hands down!

You are hiring AL???? – Please do it soon we have a vast wasteland of Talking with local flare..
I can not believe wgy took Roney off for Beck. Al Roney talked about local issues that matter here and now. I am sure if you hired him he would have an audience from day 1 and advertisers lining up. I live in the Hudson Valley and tuned in every day not a day since Beck has been on.
Why not consider Kelly 12-3 and Al Roney 3-6? That’s Live Local Talker 1300!
I would love for Al to come back to the local airwaves. I did not always agree with what he said, but I appreciated his opinion and the fact that he let others speak their mind. He would (will) be a great asset to Talk1300.
Kelly is good as a fill-in, but I would not really want her as a permanent host for 20 hours a week.
The silence since Al is gone is deafening – we lost a local voice with charm and local mom and pop wisdom…close State Parks? I don’t think so with Al on board. Don’t get my hopes up Paul…
I agree with Frankie. I have enjoyed Kelly and I loved Al when he was on WGY. Haven’t listened to it( WGY )since they got rid of him. But, Kelly has brought a nice perspective to the PM show. She lets people talk and with the all male line up you have-she gives a female viewpoint. Why not try Kelly from 12-3 and Al from 3-6?
