Today’s (2/5/10) Business Review had a bit of info regarding TALK 1300 – authored by Barbara Pinckney..
“WGDJ, 1300 AM gave itself a boost Dec. 1 when the two-year-old talk station doubled its power to 10,000 watts. Paul Vandenburgh, president of WGDJ and owner of Capital Broadcasting Inc. of Albany, said the focus now will shift to raising the station’s public profile. We waited to get to 10,000 watts before we really started promoting, he said, Now we can do that.
WGDJ’s public profile got some help in October, when it was named as the new radio home of Siena College men’s basketball games. Its money demo share rose 133 percent from the summer (ratings) book with most of the gains from male listeners.”

I really like what Talk 1300 has been doing. I’m in my car a lot during the day for business so I get to taste much of the programming. Doesn’t have the stuffy feel often associated with local talk. I look forward to more great stuff in the future.

I am a legally blind manaber of a news stand at the Dept. of Labor. in Albany. I have been in business in Albany for 16 years.
Paul Vandenburgh has been a model for me. Indirectly, he has been my mentor.
It`s hard enough to keep a small business going these days. It`s even more difficult to run a business with a disability. But I am doing it.
Paul gives me the encouragement to keep on trucken.
