Taxpayer) an arm & a leg for Obama, security, limos and the rest of the stuff that goes with a Presidential visit to the Capital Region… just imagine what it cost you to send the President to pick up his big, fat ”NO” to the Olympics. And that makes you feel how….?
I dislike making fun of people’s names to express ideas and refrained from responding to nobama with nobimbos during the election. I do, however, think it was a big mistake for him to go to Copenhagen. It would have been better to send Michelle; I think, however, that the Olympics themselves are a big mistake and wish people would see them for what they are: a tremendous waste of time and money. The original intent of having a competition between different nations’ amateur athletes has long been lost in the year-round tax-supported training of professionals. Even if they never get a penny for their training, the support given to them could well be spent on many other much more worthwhile endeavors and they could put their energy into something of value to others besides themselves and the false pride because someone in our country won a contest. It boggles my mind that otherwise intelligent people support such immature attitudes and goals.
