The economy and political world we live in today stirs many negative emotions, fear, anger, frustration. The beauty of being human, with all of our flaws, is that we have the ability to take these negative emotions and channel them into energy to create positive outcomes. After all, that’s how the United States got here. The founding fathers took a bad situation, oppression and tyranny, and used the platform to create the greatest nation in the history of nations. It took a lot of struggle, a lot of conflict and a tremendous amount of sacrifice, but look at what they were able to create. Even with all the flaws we may perceive in our country right now, it is still the best place on earth to be born. Will it be for our children and grandchildren? That’s up to each and every one of us.
And guess what, it isn’t the actions and decisions of a few of our privileged elite leaders that will get us back to moving in the right direction. It will be the actions and decisions of hundreds of millions of individuals that will get us back to the path to prosperity. Part of our responsibility lies in participating in the political process. Just know that politicians tell us what they think we want to hear, and then in most cases just take care of their close supporters (interest groups, etc.). They don’t really take ownership of the outcomes many of their decisions, supposedly made on our behalf, produce for us.
It is up to each and every one of us to take charge of our own lives and make it better. There are still unlimited opportunities out there. Many of them can benefit each and every one of us. My faith is not in our politicians. My faith is in you, each every one of you, and in us, the common people. You don’t need to be told what to do. You have the ability to see what you need to do to achieve your personal goals, your personal mission, to take care of yourself and the people you care about. Negative emotions create energy, often more energy than positive emotions. Let’s use that energy productively.
You know yourself. You know your family. You know what can help you and your loved ones better than any politician. Each and every one of you has gifts and talents given to you not by the government, but by your creation. The cumulative affect of each and every one of us taking the energy generated by the anger, fear and frustration that exists today and turning that energy into positive outcomes for ourselves and our loved ones can overwhelm any stupidity that exists in our government today. We have proven this to be true over and over again. We may have gotten a little too fat, dumb and careless in the recent past. We may have believed too much in the power of “leaders” to do things for us, looking for an easy way. We don’t have to follow the “leaders” off the cliff, especially since they have parachutes purchased at our expense.
