Hi Kathleen,

Thank you for your comment and we appreciate your concern. I firmly believe Angela is using the word "torture" in jest. I assure you, although Angela's workouts are challenging, they are appropriate for her level of fitness.

Angela's exercise intensity is based on a subjective rating of perceived exertion(RPE)scale of 6-20(Borg Scale). Angela is encouraged to maintain an intensity level equivalent to 10-16 RPE(~69% of HRMax =133bpm, or ~50% HRR) and her condition is carefully monitored (during and post-workout) for any signs of overexertion. Please keep following her progress on her blog.

Thank you.

Kathleen,
Thanks for the insight. Torture was probably too harsh of a word.I tend to get a little over wordy. Bryan is very aware of each exercise and how much I am putting into each one. I will look into those clothes!

Oh no, not the word 'torture'! That scares me a little, Angela. A great workout should be strenuous, and hard work, and leave you tired, but if you are working within a good heart rate window and remembering to breathe, it should not be torture!
Has your trainer talked to you about the impact on yourself of the words you use to describe your diet and sense of effort you are expending in your exercise?
If I thought every workout was torture, I'd be quick to quit.
