Baseline Fitness Assessment – Get Some Workout of Her

I had my official fitness assessment today with Bryan from Synergy Fitness and Nutrition. This assessment will give Bryan a baseline to work from (yikes – the numbers are scary!) and aid him in creating the best workout for me.

My first workout based on the assessment is Wednesday, but I have been increasing my cardio on my own as well. That is something I will have to continue with in order to get the most out of this. I got up at 6:30am on Saturday and went to Omni Fitness Center and did 50 minutes on the elliptical before heading out for the day. Today, after the assessment I did another 50 minutes on elliptical, and I am planning on doing at least 50, maybe 60 tomorrow.

My baseline stats are below. Don’t forget to comment and let me know how you think I am doing or how you think I am going to do!

I’ll be following your progress. I am interested in the variety of methods used to calculate where you truly are athletically. Keep up the hard work, its not easy to stay motivated.

  2. Good luck! It took alot of courage to commit so publicly to getting back into shape! I am rooting for you!
Did Bryan give you a specific heart rate window to work within for your elliptical workout, or are you working with just perceived exertion?
Are you also changing your diet?

    Lynn – Thank you!

Kathleen – Thank you! I think by being so public about it – I am finally going to get it done! I am going to get a rundown on the entire program tomorrow – he will have specific things for me to adhere to – and I will post those things tomorrow. I had started changing my diet before I started this – but now I am going to be much more strict and I have begun a food journal.
