Terrible Idol

So I decided to watch an hour of Idol tonight.  I need the number to FOX -- I want a refund on that hour of my life.  Tonight it was the songs of Michael Jackson -- where…WHERE are the hits?  The songs in the first hour (PYT, Remember The Time, and a couple of no name songs) were awful.  Then there’s the panel -- Simon is great -- Randy has said the same thing for the last bunch of years -- Paula is painful (the whole package) -and the new girl is blah.  Michael Jackson has plenty of great hits…why they allowed any of those kids to sing any of those 2nd.. and 3rd level cuts from MJ’s library is beyond me.  Give me MASH repeats, Family Guy repeats, NCIS repeats.  The first song of the second hour is finally a hit “Beat It”.  Why they waited this long to bring a hit out is beyond me.  The kid that sang it goes by the name “Anoop” after his performance it looks like A Nope.  Thankfully all the judges agreed (whew).  G’nite.

Though I agree the song choices were not the best, I think the talent itself was lacking. The hopefuls that I was rooting for disappointed me and I am not sure that an MJ “hit song” would have made the difference. Paula appeared drugged/drunk and I am not a fan of the new judge. Say what you want about Simon but he really does seem to hit the mark. Sounds like the next couple of weeks of voting will include the judges??? This may just be the last for American Idol. Tineydancer….out!
